Safeguarding one’s Tongue

Whoever protects his tongue for the sake of Allah, Allah will free his tongue to pronounce the shahada (testimony of faith) at the time of death. And whoever releases his tongue dishonoring  Muslims and exposing their faults, Allah will hold his tongue from pronouncing the shahada (testimony of faith) at the time of death. -Ibn al-Qayyim
