https://www.khutbah.info/eid-al-adha-khutbah-holding-on-to-iman/ Allahu Akbar. Your brothers were in Arafat yesterday, and they raised their hands to Allah – the Exalted – with supplications. They magnified the rites and the sanctities. How many supplications were raised to Allah – the Exalted! And how many eyes, out of fear and hope in Him, shed tears! Allah – the Exalted – heard them. O Allah, respond to the supplications of those who supplicate, and accept the deeds of the doers, O Lord of the worlds.
Verily, all praise is for Allah. We praise Him, we seek His assistance and we ask for His forgiveness. And we seek refuge in Him from the evils of our selves. Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide. Whoever He misguides, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah and I bear witness that Mohammad is His slave and messenger.
Al Imran 102 : O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.
Oh people:
The truest speech is the Book of Allah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ﷺ. The most evil matters are the newly introduced, for every newly introduced matter is a Bid’ah (unprecedented matter without basis in Quran or Sunnah). Every Bid’ah is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa Ilaha illaLah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa liLahil Hamd
Allahu Akbar.
Allahu Akbar. Your brothers, the pilgrims, are now heading to the Jamarat, chanting the Talbiyah and making Takbir, magnifying the Lord of the worlds. O Allah, grant them an accepted Hajj and forgive them their sins.
Allahu Akbar. Muslims all over the world are drawing closer to Allah – the Exalted – by slaughtering the Udhiya (sacrifices) after performing this great prayer. O Allah, accept the sacrifices from those who offer them, and provide for the poor and needy.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa Ilaha illaLah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa liLahil Hamd
O people:
The greatest blessing that Allah – the Exalted – has bestowed upon the believers is the blessing of iman (faith). There is no blessing that equals it or approaches it because iman (faith) is paradise in this world, and its reward is the eternal paradise in the Hereafter.
An-Nahl (16) 97: Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer – We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.
Not having iman (faith) is the greatest humiliation and loss. It is doubt, confusion, loss, and turmoil. Such a person does not know anything about their past or future, with fear and sorrow about their present.
Al-An’am (6) 71: Whom the devils enticed [to wander] upon the earth confused.
Their hearts are torn by confusion, their faith is riddled with doubt, and they do not know what the meeting with their Lord will entail.
Al-Hajj (22) 55: But those who disbelieve will not cease to be in doubt of it.
Fussilat (41) 54: Unquestionably, they are in doubt about the meeting with their Lord.
They see people passing, and do not know towards what they are heading. Truth and falsehood are the same to them because they are blind to the truth and cannot distinguish right from wrong.
An-Naml (27) 66: Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind.
Those lacking iman (faith) have dark hearts and constricted chests. So this vast world becomes narrow to them, and they are not happy even if they own all of it.
Al-An’am (6) 125: So whoever Allāh wants to guide – He expands his breast to [contain] Islām; and whoever He wants to send astray – He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky. Thus does Allāh place defilement upon those who do not believe.
Those lacking iman (faith) live among people but do not find solace with them. They indulge in worldly pleasures, but their distress outweighs their joy.
Taha (20) 124: And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a depressed [i.e., difficult] life.
Those abandoning iman (faith) think that through their worldly knowledge, they are the best of people. But they do not know that they are the worst of creatures upon this earth.
Al-Anfal (8) 55: Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allāh are those who have disbelieved, and they will not [ever] believe.
And they do not know that an animal is better than them. For there is no good in them without iman (faith).
Al-Furqan (25) 44: Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.
The death of those lacking iman (faith) is the worst death; whereby the reality that they persistently denied becomes evident to them, and they see firsthand what they used to deny. And that does not benefit them at all, for there is no return and no repentance.
Al-An’am (6) 93: And if you could but see when the wrongdoers are in the overwhelming pangs of death while the angels extend their hands, [saying], “Discharge your souls! Today you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation for what you used to say against Allāh other than the truth and [that] you were, toward His verses, being arrogant.”
What a painful ending and a regretful outcome!
And on the Day of Resurrection, there is no ransom for those who abandoned iman (faith), but the punishment of the Fire.
Al-Ma’idah 36-37 (36) Indeed, those who disbelieve – if they should have all that is in the earth and the like of it with it by which to ransom themselves from the punishment of the Day of Resurrection, it will not be accepted from them, and for them is a painful punishment. (37) They will wish to get out of the Fire, but never are they to emerge therefrom, and for them is an enduring punishment.
The most miserable of people is the one who loses iman (faith) after having it, and leaves it after entering. They lived in a believing family, were cared for by believing parents, were in a believing community, and then left faith after that; due to a desire that they followed, or a doubt that clung to their heart. No one is more miserable than such a person in this world or in the Hereafter. In this world, they live in compounded ignorance and accumulating darkness, preventing others from iman (faith), calling to misguidance, thinking that they know while they are ignorant. They claim to be righteous while they are wrongdoers. And in their hearts, there is sorrow for what they have left.
Al-A’raf (7) 30: They had taken the devils as allies instead of Allāh while they thought that they were guided.
Az-Zukhruf (43) 37: And indeed, they [i.e., the devils] avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided
And in the Hereafter, they have the severest punishment. The one who abandons iman (faith) usually does not return to it again; as a punishment from Allah Almighty for having rejected the greatest blessing that Allah – the Exalted – gave them.
Al-Imran (3)86-88: (86) How shall Allāh guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people. (87) Those – their recompense will be that upon them is the curse of Allāh and the angels and the people, all together, (88) Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved.
Al-Munafiqun (63) 3: That is because they believed, and then they disbelieved; so their hearts were sealed over, and they do not understand.
So, praise Allah – the Exalted – for what He has given you of iman (faith), and remain steadfast upon it and do not leave it, and instill it in your children. For iman (faith) is the greatest blessing, and there is no salvation for the servant except through it.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa Ilaha illaLah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa liLahil Hamd
I say what you have heard and I seek forgiveness from Allah for me and you from every sin. So seek forgives from Him, Verily He is Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
Second Khutbah
All praise is to Allah, and peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah and I bear witness that Mohammad is His servant and messenger.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa Ilaha illaLah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa liLahil Hamd
O Muslim woman:
The wave of calling to abandon iman (faith) and rebel against the Shariah is invading the minds of Muslim girls through social media. They strive earnestly to persuade them to rebel against their religion, their hijab, their chastity, their families, and their communities. So it is imperative for mothers to stay close to their daughters, protecting them from those who attempt to infiltrate their minds and hearts to make them fuel for burning in the furnace of their sick ideas and malicious agendas, and dubious aims. How many have been lost on this miserable path!
Instilling faith in the hearts of daughters, and ensuring it grows and increases, through good treatment, dialogue, and persuasion, is one of the most important means for protecting daughters from the thieves of minds and honor.
Before and after all this, is supplication; supplication for the righteousness of daughters. So, for the sake of Allah, protect your daughters from those evil, wicked people who desire nothing for them but evil, shame, and the Fire. May Allah protect our daughters and the daughters of Muslims from the evil of the wicked and the schemes of the immoral, and bestow upon them faith and modesty, and make them the delight of their parents’ eyes.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa Ilaha illaLah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa liLahil Hamd
O Muslims: The Sunnah after this prayer is to slaughter the Udhiya (sacrificial animals) and eat from them, as did the Prophet ﷺ. The time for slaughtering extends until just before sunset on the thirteenth day, and it is valid to slaughter at night contrary to what the common people think. The Sunnah is to eat from one’s sacrifice, gift from it, and give from it in charity. And if one makes a feast from it, that is permissible.
It is forbidden to fast on the day of Eid and the three days that follow, which are the days of Tashreeq. These are days of eating, drinking, and remembrance of Allah Exalted. Therefore, prohibitions and sins should be avoided during these days in obedience to Allah – the Exalted – and in gratitude to Him for His great blessings. The motto of these days is dhikr (remembrance) and takbeer (saying Allahu Akbar).
Al-Baqarah (2) 203: And remember Allāh during [specific] numbered days.
May Allah Almighty repeatedly bestow upon us and you and upon all Muslims faith and blessings and safety and security. May Allah accept from us and you the righteous deeds. Indeed Allah is All Hearing, Answering.
I conclude with this and send prayers of blessings and peace upon your Prophet as your Lord commanded:
Al Ahzaab (33) 56: Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [ Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [ Allah to grant him] peace.
O Allah, guide us with those whom You have guided, grant us well-being among those You have granted well-being, be an ally to us along with those whom You are an ally to, and bless what You have bestowed upon us, and save us from the evil of what You have decreed. For verily You decree and none can decree over You. He whom You support can never be humiliated. Glory is to You, our Lord, You are Blessed and Exalted.
O Allah, We ask You for all that is good, in this world and in the Hereafter, what we know and what we do not know. O Allah, we seek refuge with You from all evil, in this world and in the Hereafter, what we know and what we do not know. O Allah, we ask You for the good that Your servant and Prophet has asked You for, and we seek refuge with You from the evil from which Your servant and Prophet sought refuge. O Allah, we ask You for Paradise and for that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed, and we seek refuge in You from Hell and from that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed. And we ask You to make every decree that You decree concerning us good.
